At the Accenture EMEA SOA workshop in Dublin this week there was some discussion on who invented the term ESB. Rumour had it that we at Cape Clear were responsible. Now I’m not claiming that we invented the term. However, by the time it was invented the Cape Clear product already contained all the core features of an ESB and here's the proof:
Back in April 2003, this video appeared on our web site describing the product as "the fastest, most secure, most standardised bus... kind of like a super bus".
It’s strange that the term super bus never caught on. Anyway, the video is well worth watching. There’s also something about wife swapping in there.
